VitaOptimum Box rendersI've been working on some new packaging renders for VitaOptimum - this time creating visualisations for their product boxes. You can see them on Amazon here
It may sound like just a simple box, but intricate modelling was actually required in order to create a realistic image. This included chamfering the edges and corners to avoid a perfectly sharp edge, and also modelling a separate lid element that included the packaging tabs and seams (as well as a slight flex to add realistic imperfections) It struck me that people often choose 3D renders over photographs to avoid imperfections - the same imperfections that 3D artists then spend most of their time trying to recreate!

New VitaOptimum Renders go liveCloth Simulation in 3DS MaxInvestigating 3DS max's cloth simulation tools in detail for the first time today. These pillows are just standard boxes with an 'internal pressure', causing them to expand during the simulation.
The cloth texture uses a chequered diffuse colour, and a procedural bump map was created using multiple Tile maps. Feel free to leave any comments - tutorial requests are always welcome! |
